Crabbing season is underway but experts say that in order to have a successful season there are several regulations fisherman need to know about.
Size matters when determining if the crab goes in your bucket or back in the water.
At the widest spot, the crab needs to be six and a quarter inches in Puget Sound said Paul Marander, crabbing expert from Outdoor Emporium.
The type of crab determines how many you can keep.
Per person, per day the limit on Dungeness is five males said Marander. When crabbing for Red Rock crab the limit is six of either sex per day.
People that are just getting started can get set up for under forty dollars including the trap, rope, and float.
