M-Bar-C Ranch in Whidbey Island is letting kids who are going through tough times or living with unique challenges trade in their day-to-day life for the life of a cowboy.
The Forgotten Children's Fund sponsors activities on the ranch. On Saturday, a group of kids and young adults with Down's syndrome rode horses, sang cowboy songs, and got a wagon ride. Their parents and siblings tagged along for a family-friendly day.
FCF and M-Bar-C Ranch is 100% volunteer-run and is free for anyone participating.
"We're mindful that there's a lot of need in the community and if we can help fill that need, that's our mission," said Doug Moeller, a volunteer with FCF.
