The Chelan Hills Fire has scorched 1,842 acres and is 97 percent contained. The fire is east of Highway 97, south of the Beebe Bridge. It's burning in grass, short brush, and wheat fields, according to the federal incident site InciWeb.
Around 244 firefighters have been fighting the Chelan Hills Fire from the ground. Six helicopters also attacked the fire from the air, utilizing nearby water resources.
Two primary residences, a seasonal home, and several outbuildings were damaged by the fire, according to Northwest Interagency Incident Management Team 11. Some corn and about 80 acres of wheat fields were also burned.
Evacuations and road closures have been lifted as of Monday night. Temporary flight restrictions were also lifted. However, air traffic may be grounded if drones are seen near wildfire fighting operations, because drones prevent the crew's ability to suppress the fire.
"Be advised that conditions are subject to changes with the movement of the fire. Please remain cautious and obey signage," posted the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Northwest Interagency Coordination Center, which is monitoring the state's wildfires, four structures have been destroyed.
