Department of Natural Resources and local fire crews are fighting a brush fire near the Granite Falls fish ladders.
There are no homes in danger. Three engines and a dozer are on scene, in addition to several crews working above the fire and a hand crew.
The fire started around 11 p.m. on private land Friday, according to DNR. The local fire department watched it overnight, but couldn't reach it because of how steep the land was.
According to DNR, Once the sun came up on Saturday, winds started pushing the fire along the side of the river and up into draws, which are small canyons.
Falling rocks make it unsafe to put crews below the fire, but they have established a good line at the top, DNR said.
The fire is seven acres.
