KING COUNTY, Wash. — A woman was killed Tuesday night after a tree fell on her home while she was in the shower in east King County, officials said.
A Bellevue Fire Department spokesperson said crews were dispatched to a home in the Bridle Trails area after a man called and said a tree fell on his house and struck his wife.
Kirkland Fire Department officials were first on the scene, followed by a Bellevue Fire medic, the spokesperson said. Crews ruled the woman dead at the scene.
The spokesperson said conditions at the home were so dangerous that the husband was escorted to safety.
No further details on the victim or the status of their home were immediately available.
This is the second person who was killed during the windstorm. Another woman was killed in Lynnwood Tuesday night after a tree fell on a homeless encampment.
