Woman shot, killed after dispute at Auburn gas station

The suspect and the victim got into an argument before the shooting took place, according to police. The suspect is still at large.

AUBURN, Wash. — A woman was shot and killed after a dispute at an Auburn gas station, according to police.

Police were called to a report of a shooting near the 500 block of 15th Street Northeast around 1:30 a.m.

When they arrived, they found a person in the passenger seat of a Ford truck who had been shot. The victim, later identified as 34-year-old Jessica Fawn Thompson, was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts. 

Police learned that a suspect had approached the passenger side of the truck at a gas station on Harvey Road and Eighth Street NE, and there was an argument between the suspect and Thompson. The suspect then shot Thompson.

The driver of the truck then drove off and ended up on 15th Street where the 911 call was placed. 

Thompson died of a gunshot wound to the torso and an extremity.

The suspect is still at large. 

Auburn police are reviewing camera footage of the area. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Auburn Police Department tip line at 253-288-7403.
