Our viewers shared some spectacular images of lenticular clouds over Mount Rainier today.
KING 5 Meteorologist Jeff Renner explains that the clouds are the result of moist air being lifted up over the peak when the air is relatively stable. Because the airflow downwind of the peak may undulate up and down like waves in the ocean, additional clouds form 'downstream' from the mountain top.
