The president should be ashamed of turning the memorial service of five assassinated police officers into a lecture on race, bigotry, Jim Crow, gun control, poverty, bad schools and how police officers treat African Americans. He went out of his way to defend Black Lives Matter, assuring us that they are a "peaceful" movement. It seems that the president's remarks should have been about the five police officers. It was not about Baton Rouge. It was not about Minnesota. It was about uniting. Yet once again, his rhetoric serves only to divide us even further.

No matter what the president does, someone is going to complain. If he goes to Louisiana or Minnesota people will complain he should've gone to Texas. And vice versa.

The president showing up in Dallas is not rubbing anything in. This president mourns all victims of crime and gun violence. He is the president of all Americans, including police.
