Fatal shooting in the Rainier Valley neighborhood of Seattle.

SEATTLE -- One man was killed and two others were injured in a shooting in the Rainier Valley Tuesday.

Police closed Rainier Avenue S. between S. Myrtle Street and S. Othello Street shortly after 12:30 a.m. but reopened it by 6 a.m. Crime scene technicians and homicide detectives spent much of the early morning collecting evidence.

"When [officers] arrived at the scene, they found there were three adult males hit by gunfire," said Seattle police Capt. Dave Proudfoot. "One of [the victims] stayed on the scene as dead on scene. The other two have been transported to area hospitals."

The victim who was killed was 45. The injured men are 47 and 50. They were both conscious when they left the area of the shooting and taken to the hospital, according to Proudfoot. As of early Tuesday morning, the two injured victims' conditions were not released. The victims' identities had not been released as of early Tuesday.

No arrests have been made. Police say they have not been able to gather solid motive or suspect information from on-scene interviews of witnesses.
