The Washington State Republican Party announced Tuesday that Chairman Susan Hutchison will step down in February.
“I have loved this job – especially the challenges,” Hutchison said in a release. “I hope I will be remembered for being strong and courageous, standing up for Republican voters.”
Hutchison was elected to the position in 2012 and has served on the Republican National Committee's Executive Committee, including the Transition Committee in early 2017.
In her time as state party chairman, Hutchison has “substantially” increased small-dollar and major donor contributions, according to the party.
The new state GOP chairman will be elected at the winter State Committee meeting on January 20. They will take over the position February 5.
