State Democratic, Republican party chairs discuss Washington's upcoming presidential primary

Washington's presidential primary election is March 12.

SEATTLE — Washington's Democratic and Republican party chairs joined KING 5 on Saturday to discuss the upcoming presidential primary election.

Shasti Conrad, the state Democratic party chair, and Jim Walsh, the state Republican party chair, discussed a possible rematch between President Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump, key issues voters should pay attention to and more. 

The March 12 presidential primary for both parties is one week after Super Tuesday. You should receive your ballot in the mail by Feb. 23. 

If you need to register to vote or update your registration, the deadline to do so online is March 4. 

Washington residents can register to vote in person up to Election Day. Ballots need to be postmarked or put in a drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day. 

Special Election reminder 

Washington's special election is Feb. 13, which includes more than 200 local measures to be decided statewide. This includes school bonds and levies and fire district measures, among manty others.
