WASH. - Aside from the annual salmon run , is there a Northwest journey more majestic than the one that takes you through the heart of the Olympic Peninsula? Highway 101 is a road that steers you through places both wild and romantic...scenic and historic...and populated by people who claim they live in the real Washington.
Beginning in Tumwater, outside Olympia, reporter Saint Bryan and photojournalist Mark Morache spent several days driving that reverse question mark shaped highway -- 365 miles-- around the Olympic Peninsula all the way to the Oregon state line outside Astoria. The result of that adventure is the Emmy nominated special, Road Trip 101.
