Fans and friends of the Riviera Hotel and Casino will have their chance to take home a piece of the iconic resort when it opens its doors to the public one last time during a $3 million liquidation sale this week.
The "Riv," which turned 60 this year, closed on May 5. It was the first high-rise to come to the Las Vegas Strip. In it's heyday, it was a host to big names including Liberace, Dean Martin, Elvis, Bob Hope and Barbara Streisand (to name a few).
NCL/National Content Liquidators will conduct the sale. The company says it has "re-marketed" the contents of more than 800 hotels and resorts in the continental U.S. and abroad.
Items for sale will be the complete contents of the hotel's 2,075 guestrooms and suites, casino with gaming tables and stools, bar and restaurant furnishings, more than 100,000 square feet of commercial kitchen equipment.
Also available will be items from the four heaters, lobby furnishings, chandeliers and sconces, store fronts, office furnishings, pool and patio furnishings, sports memorabilia and other items.
Doors open at 9 a.m. Thursday. The sale will continue daily, Monday-Saturday, 9:00 am-7:00 pm and Sunday, 10:00-5:00 pm until sold out.
Admission is $10 for the first four days of the sale. All items are tagged, priced and sold "as is, where is" on a first come basis.
The hotel will be imploded this summer and the property will be used for convention center expansion.
