TACOMA, Wash. — The City of Tacoma debuted an interactive code violation map in April that goes hand-in-hand with their encampment map launched in 2018.
It allows you to see with the click of a button specific code violations that have been reported and what – if anything – the city is or has done about it.
This map not only shows you where the city has addressed reported homeless camps, but it also can be used to report other code violations like tree length and size or even if a car is parked illegally.
After a complaint is made a code compliance officer inspects the concern and will update via the map whether the issue is a violation, has been corrected, or the case is closed.
The goal is to provide more transparency for residents and to get more details on how their complaint is being handled.
In addition to filing a report online, you may also call 311.
