PORTLAND, ORE - If Taylor John Williams, with his long hair and hats, doesn't look like your typical reality show star, that may be because he isn't.
"I just don't feel like I'm the kind of person a show like that wants, " said Williams on a visit to his hometown of Portland. "I always thought reality shows were really stupid. Especially competitions. Music based ones. So it's bizarre that I even decided to do this. But then like I'm here. In the Top 5. I can't really wrap my brain around it."
This week William, the last remaining member of Team Gwen, is competing to be among the final three.
He's come a long way from busking on the sidewalks of Portland and working at Sniff Dog Hotel. Williams says one of his favorite things about competing on The Voice is visiting the wardrobe room.
"I love wardrobe." Williams said in an interview on the show. "I would describe my style as Amish Hipster. I've been a hat guy since middle school. I don't like worrying about my hair."
Williams doesn't appear to be worried about whether he wins The Voice either.
"I love - like genuinely love- everybody that's left in this thing," said Williams. "Like we're such a tight knit group it doesn't even feel like a competition anymore. It's just like we all want to go out there and perform our best and you know whatever happens, we're going to have each other's backs."
