FERNDALE, Wash. — Logan is a five-week-old German Shepherd puppy whose incurable heart defect will make his time on this earth a short one.
Lindie Saenz is a volunteer at Whatcom County-based Rescued Hearts Northwest. She is fostering Logan, who has been given anywhere from a month to a year to live because of his heart.
"Closer to a month is what the vet is thinking," said Saenz.
This, however, is not a sad story. His team of caretakers have made it their mission to make Logan's life as full as possible.
"We've created a bucket list for Logan, because his time is so short," said Saenz.

So far, Logan has been to the beach, he's eaten ice cream and hamburgers at Dairy Queen, gone swimming, visited local parks, and even is getting his own soda next week at Seattle-based Jones Soda Co.
One item on his bucket list is to get 100 hugs and on Sunday there's an opportunity for you to help him out with that.
From 12-3 p.m., Logan will be at Mud Bay in Bellingham for a meet and greet. All are welcome to help make Logan's short life a little more rich with love.
Saenz hopes that by spreading the word about Logan and his bucket list, people are inspired to live their own lives to the fullest.
"It doesn't matter how long you have or what you have in your life, it just matters how you live it, and Logan is living it up," Saenz said.
