SEATTLE — The Seahawks lost 17-13 to the Bengals Sunday after being stopped in the red zone with under a minute left in the game. Geno Smith had more than 300 passing yards but threw two costly interceptions.
“He got sacked a lot, and I think a lot of the problems still stem from things that are happening up front on the offensive line,” Terry Hollimon said. “There’s still inconsistencies there.”
Geno and the Seahawks offense weren’t able to capitalize on opportunities towards the end of the game. The defense, though, held the Bengals to just a field goal in the second half, after allowing two touchdowns in the first half.
“I will say this,” Hollimon said. “It was a very good game against a very qualified opponent in the Bengals. They were a team that was in the Super Bowl within the last three years. The Seahawks did pretty good on the road in a very hostile environment.”
The Bengals had just 214 yards of total offense, and the defense successfully shut down Joe Burrow in the second half.
“I think the Seahawk defense is playing so well right now,” Hollimon said. “They played well enough to win. There just were some things that happened.”
The 1-5 Arizona Cardinals will travel to Seattle Sunday for a battle at Lumen Field, and Hollimon hopes fans will be out in full force to cheer the 3-2 Seahawks to victory.
“It’ll be loud and crazy. We want everybody out there.”
