WOODINVILLE, Wash. —
Dale and Phyllis Larson's home has been an integral part of their lives for 18 years. Now, they're ready to pass it on.
"At this point, we feel like another family should come and enjoy what we have enjoyed," said Phyllis.
And there's a whole lot to enjoy at their Woodinville residence, Silver Fox Estate.
"This is really a children's haven.
"The main house itself is about 10 thousand square feet, roughly, and that includes a basement where we have a recreation room, library, and a home theater," said Dale. "As you walk around the home you notice the attention to detail, the craftsmanship in terms of the finished work, the finish carpenters here were amazing craftsmen."
The main house has 5 bathrooms and 6 bedrooms, including the picturesque primary bedroom.
"The primary bedroom is really wonderful because it's spacious but not overly spacious," said Dale. "We have a sitting room next to it with a fireplace."
At the heart of the home is the huge kitchen.
"The kitchen is probably my favorite area in the house,” said Phyllis. And for any woman or man, it's definitely the place to be."
Just off the kitchen, and living up to its name, is the great room.
"It's got sort of this lodge feel because it's got these timbers for the vaulted ceiling, and a big sand-stone faced fireplace,” described Dale.
But even bigger than the great room is the home's recreation wing.
"It's really your own private sports club because we have locker rooms for both men and women. We also have an indoor-outdoor pool. We have two double windowpane garage doors which in the winter let in light. When it's a nice day in the summer we open them up. There's also a kitchen in the pool area."
The rec wing even has a room to shoot hoops in.
"We have a regulation high school half-court with 30-foot ceilings and it's set up for both regulation half-court use or short court."
Outside the main residence, you'll find the carriage house.
"It's designed with two double garages which are high enough for smaller RV's. And then above it is a lovely one-bedroom apartment. It's very spacious."
Spacious is also the word you'd use to describe the estate's grand grounds.
"We live on seven and three-quarter acres, so a little under eight acres. It's basically level. All the grounds around the house were professionally landscaped. We do have a full-size professional tennis court just out behind the gym. It's [lit] so you can play at night."
"It really is a sense of feeling like you're living in the country, and yet you're just minutes away from all the urban amenities," said Dale.
Moving on is never easy. But the Larson's hope whoever buys Silver Fox Estate will make as many memories as they made.
"There is no other home like this."
Silver Fox Estate is listed for $8,998,000. More information on the home can be found here.
