Care managers meet with clients and their loved ones inside their home to understand needs and desires for care.
“They use that information and create a care plan, so our caregivers have an exact map to follow when they are in the home providing the care,” Dedrick said.
The plan is personalized for each client and includes information on how they want a task completed in their home by a caregiver. When it comes to matching caregivers with clients, the Serengeti team uses the care plan to understand what’s important to a client and what care is needed.
“We’re looking at a caregiver that meets the skillset that’s required to provide the care then also some characteristics that are similar to that client or what they desire of a person that’s going to be in their space,” Dedrick said.
Scheduling coordinators with Serengeti are local and work to create the perfect match using key information, rather than relying on a computer system for matching.
“Our scheduling coordinators are meeting the clients, are meeting the caregivers, and are individually matching them based on those needs that we found,” Dedrick said.
Serengeti caregivers are licensed through the state and complete background and fingerprint checks. They also complete regular education and training.
Everyone on the Serengeti team, even the owners, work together to create a quality experience for clients and each other.
“What I love about Serengeti Care is the culture,” Dedrick said. “We have grown significantly over the past few years, but we still work as a small company. It’s still very personalized.”
