SEATTLE — Teachers, in my opinion, have one of the most difficult and important jobs in the world. I still remember one of my favorite teachers of all time, Ms. Schmidt at Ben Franklin Elementary School.

That’s why I was so happy to hear three deserving local elementary school teachers were being honored. They got the royal treatment at a recent Seahawks home game- serving as a big thank you for what they do every single day.

Congratulations to Premera Blue Cross’ 2023 #HeroesInTheClassroom Winners. These teachers were chosen because of the impact they have made on their students and community.

Premera Blue Cross says it’s clear from the nominations they received that each of these educators have made a lasting impact on their students. What an amazing group of educators that go above and beyond for their students.

1- Josie Painter, third grade teacher, Bow Lake Elementary (SeaTac)

2- Crystal Moore, second grade teacher, Silver Lake Elementary (Everett)

3- Dammian Tucker, second grade teacher, Edna Travis Elementary (Tacoma)

Each winner got $2,000 for their school, a personalized jersey and two tickets to the Seahawks home game.

It was an exciting time for me too as this was my first time on the sidelines during a Hawks game. I got to meet the three teachers from across the Puget Sound region and talk to them about what this honor means to them. After talking with the teachers, we all felt very special and amazed to be this up close to all the players. I am a huge die-hard Seahawks fan so literally… DREAMS.

Thank you to all teachers! Learn more about the health plans Premera has to offer school employees here.
