The Lake Chelan Wine and Jazz Festival successfully hosted an in-person, sold-out crowd in May for jazz music, wine and beautiful views.
“We kind of call it a musical tour around the Lake Chelan Wine Valley because it is unique in that it’s not a festival that happens in one place and multiple artists come to that one place,” said Holly Brown, marketing director, Lake Chelan Wine and Jazz Festival. “The artists are spread out through a variety of venues and wineries all around this gorgeous lake.”
A variety of artists performed this year, from quartets and soloists to big bands, horn bands, groove bands, and much more. Artists came from all over the country and included Earshot Jazz-award-winning and Grammy-nominated artists.
In addition to the great music and wine, the atmosphere also contributes to making the Lake Chelan Wine and Jazz Festival so special.
“It’s beautiful to be able to be at a winery or in a vineyard setting and you sort of feel that whole experience of the lake and the vineyard experience as well,” Brown said. “There’s not that many places you can go where you can get both.”
Though the festival just wrapped up, you don’t have to wait until next May to visit the more than 30 wineries in Lake Chelan.
“There continues to be music all around the wineries in Lake Chelan,” Brown said. “Don’t think just because the jazz festival is over that you can’t come to Chelan to find fabulous wine, terrific music and a whole lot of fun.”
Planners have already started preparing for 2022’s festival and are looking forward to an even “bigger and better” festival next year. Because tickets sold out this year, it’s important to plan ahead and get them early. Tickets will go on sale January 1, 2022, and the festival is always the third week of May.
