It isn't easy to talk about what we want to happen to us after we die, and until recently, there were only a couple of options like cremation and burial.
This changed in 2019, when Washington became the first state in the country to legalize human composting, also known as terramation, as a greener alternative to burial or cremation.
Terramation is essentially the transformation of human remains into soil. It's a natural process, though, it is somewhat sped up through additional scientific means.
Micah Truman and Brie Smith of Return Home joined New Day NW to talk more about the process of terramation and the services the staff at Return Home provide to families.
