How to upgrade your pantry with pull-out shelves

The ShelfGenie of Seattle team can use custom storage solutions to help you organize your kitchen. Sponsored by ShelfGenie.

SEATTLE — A clutter-free kitchen could be in your future with custom pantry solutions.

“We design, build and install custom pull-outs into existing cabinetry,” said Michael Bowman, lead designer, ShelfGenie of Seattle. “As long as there is an existing space, we can help you out.”

ShelfGenie can build pull-outs for a variety of pantry spaces, including cabinet, closet, double-door and corner pantries.

Cabinet pantries often provide a tall space, but items can get lost in the back of shelves. That’s where pull-out shelving comes in handy to give you quick access to everything in the pantry.

As for closet pantries, there is often wire shelving that can leave much unused space.

“It’s very common to see wire shelving, and people just really don’t like it,” Bowman said. “It doesn’t work well, and there’s a lot of lost space.”

With ShelfGenie’s solutions, you can see all your items easily when you pull them out, including taller items, depending on the design of your space.

The top of a double-door pantry is an ideal place to consolidate and store flat items, like cutting boards and cooking sheets. ShelfGenie can build a custom area where those fit perfectly.

With a corner pantry, there’s often lost and unusable space in the deep corners. Lazy Susans provide ease and accessibility in corner spaces.

For unique areas, like storage under steps, ShelfGenie still has options to help you keep it organized.

“It’s kind of an odd space, but as long as there’s walls to work with and a deep space, we can help you out,” Bowman said.

The first step to find out about custom solutions for your home is to contact ShelfGenie to discuss your unique situation. A designer will come to your home, determine your needs, present a 3D model with options and give you a quote.

“We really look at it in a comprehensive manner, and we design it out based on your needs and really make it tailor-made to the client,” Bowman said.
