Verizon spreads kindness at Pike Place Market

As part of its #ACallForKindness campaign, Verizon supported a small business and gave sweet treats to shoppers. Sponsored by Verizon.

SEATTLE — Feb. 17 is National Random Acts of Kindness Day, and Verizon is leading the way with kind acts in the community. Verizon surprised shoppers with a box of goodies from indi chocolate.

“This is all about spreading kindness,” said Chris Fitzgerald, Verizon director of consumer sales. “If we can brighten somebody’s day, put a smile on somebody’s face, while also encouraging them to do something kind themselves, I think that’s a win for us today.”

Many shoppers at Pike Place Market were delighted to receive the treats and eager to share kindness themselves.

“This time of year, especially in Washington, it’s a little gray and dreary outside, so people aren’t always as inclined to interact and be warm to one another,” a recipient said. “I think it’s a good reminder.”

Verizon also bought fuel for people last summer and groceries this past Thanksgiving as part of its #ACallForKindness campaign. The company hosted neighborhood meetups and added kindness murals to local cityscapes as well.

“This Call for Kindness campaign was really to remind people to not only be kind to themselves but be kind to each other,” said Kacie Holder, Verizon communications manager.

Value conscious consumers can bring their current phones to Verizon and sign up for the Welcome Unlimited plan to get unlimited talk, text and data for just $25 a line. That price is guaranteed for three years.

Verizon also offers premium 5G unlimited plans that include talk, text, data and extras, like Disney+ or Apple TV. Verizon home internet service is just $25 a month for anyone who has a premium unlimited plan.
