What to do in Lake Chelan during fall! | Local Lens Seattle

After this epic fall trip to Lake Chelan, I think I’m changing its name to “Washington’s Paradise!” Sponsored by the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce.

CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — Lake Chelan is a little over 3 hours away from Seattle and the scenic drive alone will get you in the mood for all things fall🍂. With 300 days of sunshine and four distinctly beautiful seasons, the Lake Chelan Wine Valley🍷 delivers so much to do and see.

Its stunning natural beauty, endless recreation and small-town charm makes it the perfect year-round destination. Plus, did I mention its home to over 40 wineries? The world-class winemakers create magic and wine harvest is the perfect time to stop in.

I had a packed weekend schedule in hopes of trying to fit everything in... and spoiler alert I couldn’t. Which means I will have to go back 😊💛!

My first stop- Tsillan Cellars🍇

A gorgeous winery on the south shore of Lake Chelan that is home to one of my favorite restaurants- Sorrento’s Ristorante. It was also named Washington Winery of the Year in 2020. I got to meet owner Bob, ride a wagon out to the vineyards and see production. Such a fun way to see the property.

Address- 3875 US HWY 97A Chelan

Second Stop- Lake Chelan Winery🍷

This family-friendly spot is known for its wine, of course, but also amazing BBQ nights. Located in the last privately owned apple packing shed just 5.5 miles from Chelan, Lake Chelan Winery is known as the pioneer of the Lake Chelan Valley wine industry.

Address- 3519 HWY 150, Chelan

Third Stop- Fielding Hills Winery🍇

Owned and operated by Mike and Karen Wade, this winery began producing back in 2000. For over two decades, they have honed impressive wine-making techniques.

I got to experience their Grape 101 class with winemaker Shane and I learned so much.

Address- 565 S Lakeshore RD, Chelan

Fourth Stop- Ancestry Cellars🍷

Next up I headed to Manson just north of Chelan. Right downtown is an adorable tasting room that does ‘Taste the Tank’ tastings every Thursday. Of course, I gave it a try with owner Jason Morin.

Fifth Stop- Chelan Ridge Winery🍇

This family-owned and operated spot along the north shore of Lake Chelan is my next stop. This one is known for its massive woodfire pizza oven and of course amazing wine. Owner Bill took me out for a hayride tour along the vineyards, which was adorable. Highly recommend if you have kiddos!

Address- 900 Swartout RD Manson

Sixth Stop- Vin Du Lac🍷

Next, I headed right outside of downtown to Vin Du Lac winery. I got to experience something different here, which is their amazing U-pick garden. All the produce is featured in their bistro, too- truly a farm-to-table experience. Owner Larry showed me around the property and I had a delicious dinner here as well. You can’t go wrong with any of the food.

Address- 105 Highway 150, Chelan

Seventh Stop- Succession Winery🍇

I headed here to their annual black and white party/dinner that is usually just for wine club members, but I somehow snuck in 😊  I had a wonderful evening with owner Erica Lindsay and got to try some delicious food thanks to the Chef from Eden Hill.
