Former SuperSonic Robert Swift arrested in King County

The former Sonic was arrested Jan. 6, on an outstanding warrant after he was found at a reported burglary in Gold Bar.

Robert Swift, a former player for the Seattle Supersonics, was arrested on January 6th on an outstanding warrant after deputies found him and another man at a reported burglary scene near Gold Bar.

A spokesperson for Snohomish County said that they received a report of an attempted burglary by two men at a Gold Bar home. According to the caller, one of the men was armed.

Snohomish County Sheriff's deputies arrested both men on outstanding warrants. Robert Swift, 29, was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm on an outstanding warrant from King County. He was booked into the King County Jail.

Neither man has been charged for the attempted burglary, which is still under investigation.

The warrant was issued in November after Swift failed to show up in court on a charge of possessing a sawed-off shot gun that was found in an October raid on a home in Kirkland was living. His roommate was charged with drug offenses.

The King County prosecutor's office says he's scheduled for arraignment on the gun charge Monday in King County Superior Court.

The Sonics took the 7-foot-1 Swift with the 12th pick in the 2004 NBA draft. His career never took off and Swift was cut by Oklahoma City Thunder in 2009.
