SEATTLE — The University of Washington and Washington State University football teams will meet Saturday for the 116th time, but the 2024 Apple Cup comes amid a completely new era of college football.

UW, along with three other former Pacific-12 Conference schools, departed for the Big Ten Conference in the offseason. WSU, meanwhile, was one of just two schools left in the once-proud Pac-12 entering this season. The Cougars and Oregon State will be joined by four new schools in 2026 as the conference attempts to rebuild itself.

The conference changes also turned this game from a late-November meeting to a mid-September showdown, as college football's rivalry weekend will now annually feature UW's contentious matchup with the University of Oregon. Lumen Field also will play host as a "neutral" site for this year's game, despite the stadium being in the same city that UW calls home.

Despite all the change, The Apple Cup still features the state's two strongest college football programs and comes with plenty of on-field intrigue. Here's how fans around the state can tune in for Saturday's game as well as what viewers should know ahead of the clash between the Huskies and the Cougars.

Saturday's game is exclusively on Peacock, meaning fans will need to sign up for the streaming service in order to tune in. There will not be a local television simulcast available, click here for more information on signing up or logging in.

UW opened the season with two resounding wins over Weber State and Eastern Michigan at Husky Stadium, while WSU began 2024 with big wins over Portland State and Texas Tech. It is UW head coach Jedd Fisch's first Apple Cup since taking over for Kalen DeBoer in the offseason. Meanwhile, Jake Dickert is 1-2 against the Huskies in his tenure at WSU.
