Friday's Mariners game sold out as Seattle competes to make the playoffs

The M's are tied with the Boston Red Sox for the second wild card spot in the American League.

SEATTLE — Mariners hype is reaching a fever pitch.

The M's are tied with the Red Sox for the second American League wild card spot after Boston lost to Baltimore Thursday night.

Friday's M's game against the Los Angeles Angels is now sold out, according to the team.

There are about 2,000 tickets left for Saturday's game and 3,000 left on Sunday, all primarily in the "View Level."

Full capacity at T-Mobile Park is 47,000 seats.

"Mariners fans have really stepped up," Hale said. "I think they've heeded Kelenic's call after the game last night and they've been buying tickets for the last three games."

Fans stocked up on Mariners gear ahead of the weekend, with ticket sales at the Mariners Team Store in downtown Seattle also seeing a rise.

"Recently, we've been doing like $400, $500 in tickets. That would be a good day. Now it's $2,000 in just one day today," said store sales associate Jake Baccetti.

Fans like Ken Jordan, who bought some new sweatpants for the occasion, said they've believed all season that the Mariners have a chance to make the playoffs.

"We're starving for a Mariners winning team. And it's coming," Jordan said.

The Mariners shared the following information for fans attending this weekend's series:

  • With 40,000+ fans at the games, we remind fans they will likely experience lines at the gates and at concession stands.
  • We recommend fans come to the ballpark early to give themselves plenty of time to get into the ballpark.
  • To help speed up the entry process, we suggest arriving early and encourage fans to have their digital tickets ready when they get to the gates.
  • We also want to remind fans that only clear bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" are permitted. One gallon clear plastic zip-top bags are okay. Small clutch bags no larger than 4.5”x6.5” are permitted (do not have to be clear).
  • No backpacks, purses or other non-clear bags are allowed.
  • Fans are reminded they are allowed to bring food into the ballpark, including one 32oz sealed, clear plastic water bottle per fan.
  • Fans 12 and older must wear masks in all areas of the ballpark except while actively eating and drinking.
