SEATTLE — J.P. Crawford's sacrifice fly propelled the Mariners to a third consecutive win over the division-rival Houston Astros on Wednesday night.
While thousands cheered inside T-Mobile Park, Crawford's dogs howled to celebrate the victory.
The video, which appeared to be initially taken by Crawford's wife Kathleen, showed the three dogs howling as the Mariners celebrate on the broadcast following the 2-1 win.
Wednesday was "Bark at the Park" night at T-Mobile Park, so it was only fitting that Crawford's dogs made an appearance from his home. The next "Bark at the Park" game hosted by the Mariners will be June 10 for a matchup against the Chicago White Sox.
After the win, Crawford was simply happy to have done just enough to put the Mariners on top.
"Get the game over with," Crawford said (h/t MLB.com). "Get the job done. And let's go home. Honestly, get a good pitch, don't miss it. And thankfully, I didn't miss it."
There is plenty of reason for excitement for all Mariners fans, be they dog or human. Seattle entered Thursday's games with a 3.5-game edge in the American League West. The Mariners could sweep the Astros in the four-game series with a win on Thursday.
After taking on the Astros Thursday, the Los Angeles Angels will visit Seattle for a three-game weekend series.
