Mariners make a bunch of moves today, involving 13 players. Here's the rundown.

  1. LHP David Rollins - claimed off waivers by the Cubs
  2. INF/OF Stefen Romero - granted his release to play in Japan
  3. INF/OF Taylor Motter - acquired from Tampa Bay
  4. INF/OF Richie Shaffer - acquired from Tampa Bay
  5. INF Dalton Kelly - traded to Tampa Bay
  6. RHP Andrew Kittredge - traded to Tampa Bay
  7. RHP Dylan Thompson - traded to Tampa Bay
  8. LHP James Pazos - acquired from NY Yankees
  9. RHP Zack Littell - traded to NY Yankees
  10. LHP Paul Fry - added to 40-man roster
  11. INF D.J. Peterson - added to 40-man roster
  12. RHP Thyago Vieria - added to 40-man roster
  13. RHP Tom Wilhelmsen - designated for assignment

Yes, a bunch of moves! The 40-man roster is currently filled.

Only three of them were contributors to the big club. Wilhelmsen's cut may have to do with his salary arbitration number, as pointed out by a few local reporters. He's scheduled for a 3.8 million in arbitration. That's probably more than the M's were willing to spend.
