Former WSU football coach will be inducted into the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame

Leach will be honored this weekend when the two teams he used to coach battle against each other.

PULLMAN, Wash. — Former Washington State Cougars Head Coach Mike Leach will be inducted into the WSU Athletics Hall of Fame this weekend.

Leach was WSU's head coach for eight seasons, winning 55 games and leading WSU to six bowl games, winning the Alamo Bowl in 2018.

Leach passed away in 2022 following complications from a heart condition.

Leach is one of five people who will be inducted this weekend.

The two teams Leach used the coach, WSU and Texas Tech, will square off against each other on Saturday, September 7. Kickoff between the Cougs and the Red Raiders is at 7 p.m. from Martin Stadium.
