INDIANAPOLIS — After a thrilling season that saw the Huskies advance to the national championship game, the University of Washington's football team will be well represented at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine next week in Indianapolis.

A program-record 13 players from UW will be participating in the NFL's annual pre-draft event when all 32 teams get an up-close look at the hundreds of prospects hoping to get to the next level.

The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine begins Monday, Feb. 26 and runs through March 4. Player workouts will be held between Feb. 29 and March 3 at Lucas Oil Stadium, the home of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts.

UW has a chance to set program records for players selected in the NFL draft as well. Ten different Huskies were drafted in the 1998 NFL Draft, led by wide receiver Jerome Pathon going in the second round. In 2015, the Huskies had three players selected in the first round with Danny Shelton, Marcus Peters and Shaq Thompson all hearing their names called on the first night of the draft.

Odunze is widely expected to be a top-10 selection and is at worst the second-best overall at his position in this year's draft class. Fautanu, the leader on an award-winning UW offensive line, is being projected as a mid-first-round pick by many outlets, including some who see him staying close and being selected by the Seahawks.

Penix Jr., the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 2023, vaulted himself into first-round consideration with his efforts in his final season at Montlake. Polk and Trice are also seen as second-round picks by many outlets but could rise into the first round as the evaluation process continues for NFL teams.

Expect to hear a lot of former Huskies have their names called this spring when the 2024 NFL Draft gets underway from Detroit.
