SEATTLE — The full National Football League (NFL) schedule will be released on Wednesday, but Seahawks fans already have a full list of opponents the team will face during the 2024 regular season.
While the matchups are known, the dates and times are yet to be released. The league has turned the release of its schedule into a made-for-television event, and that can be seen at 5 p.m. PT, per the NFL.
Ahead of Wednesday's full release, here are three opponents local Seahawks fans should be most excited about potentially getting to see in action at Lumen Field. One note: division opponents (Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers) are not included here as the Seahawks play against those teams each and every year, both at home and away.
Green Bay Packers
It won't be Aaron Rodgers trotting out onto the field to face the Seahawks in Seattle, but Green Bay appears to have found itself another possible franchise quarterback. Jordan Love, who played his college football at Utah State University, punctuated a strong first full season as a starter with a dominant playoff win over the Dallas Cowboys. The Packers came within a field goal of beating the eventual National Football Conference (NFC) champion 49ers in the divisional round, but that run has placed elevated expectations on the shoulders of Love and head coach Matt LaFleur.
Green Bay also went out and signed Josh Jacobs at running back this offseason, bringing one of the league's most dangerous players into the Packers' backfield alongside Love. Add in a fleet of young wide receivers and tight ends and this should be a tough test for the Seahawks' talented secondary. Don't be surprised if this game ends up producing plenty of points.
Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen is among the league's most exciting quarterbacks, as his mobility and strong arm present all kinds of problems for opposing defenses. The Seahawks retooled the defense this offseason under new head coach Mike Macdonald, and the new group of linebackers will have their hands full with Allen and running back James Cook.
The Bills' defense also has been among the league's best, so Geno Smith and the offense under new coordinator Ryan Grubb will have to scheme well to hang with Buffalo.
Miami Dolphins
Although they went out without much fanfare in the playoffs, the Dolphins were arguably the NFL's most exciting team to watch in 2023. Wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle along with running backs Raheem Mostert and De'von Achane formed the fastest group of skill players in the league. Miami even managed to put up a whopping 70 points on the Denver Broncos and should again be among the league's most high-scoring offenses.
Tua Tagovailoa is very accurate when he is playing at his best but has been nagged by injuries during his football career. The Seahawks will need all the speed from guys like Riq Woolen and Devon Witherspoon to keep Miami from lighting up the scoreboard.
