Former Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell might get a shot at coaching quarterbacks next season. Bevell is scheduled to interview with the Atlanta Falcons, according to a report from D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Bevell was let go last week after seven seasons as the offensive coordinator in Seattle. Former Panthers quarterback coach Ken Dorsey, recently fired as well, is also in consideration for the open position.

Coach Dan Quinn’s search for a new quarterback coach is now underway since Bush Hamdan will be returning to the University of Washington as the team’s new offensive coordinator.

Bevell coached alongside Quinn in Seattle when he held the defensive coordinator position.

Prior to the Seahawks, Bevell was the offensive coordinator for the Vikings from 2006-2010 and the Packers’ quarterback coach from 2003-2005. He was a college quarterback at Wisconsin.

Bevell was fired on the same day as former Seahawks’ offensive line coach Tom Cable, who was hired Thursday by the Raiders in the same capacity. Brian Schottenheimer replaces Bevell in Seattle.
