Like another Bay Area genius who resurrected a once-proud organization through innovation and exacting leadership, San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh is a man who wears the same, affordable outfit over and over despite having millions of dollars to his name. The main differences between the wardrobes of Harbaugh and the late Steve Jobs: 1) Harbaugh opts for pleated khakis instead of blue jeans, 2) the coach s long-sleeved black shirt isn t a turtleneck, 3) Harbaugh gets his shirts from the 49ers team store and notcustom made by Issey Miyake, 4) only one guy shopped at Walmart.
None of this pleases Mr. Harbaugh s better half. His wife, Sarah, told KMVQ that doesn t like her husband s clothing and will not take blame for his style. She said she s tried to persuade him to catch up with the times ( pleats are gone, wear the flat front ) but has backed off this year because whatever Jim s been doing is working well for his San Francisco 49ers. Not that she hasn t tried to force a change in the past, however.
I ve thrown (his pants) away many of times.I threw them out and when he went to the combine, he found a Walmart. They were $8. $8!
Sarah said Jim may change styles next year. For now, up-to-date hems can wait. A Lombardi trophy is at stake.
