SHELTON, Wash. -- Allison Christensen is all smiles in the comforts of her own home.
The 11-year-old was gone for months, stuck in a hospital bed, waiting for a heart.
The day she received that new heart, her life changed in more ways than one. She went from a transplant survivor to a household name. That s because Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson showed the media the new duct-tape Seahawks wallet Allison made for him.
I thought it was pretty cool. I didn't know he was going to do that. I was shocked a little, said Allison.
Allison s favorite pitchman has led to more orders for wallets like his.
Her little hands haven t stopped with duct tape wallets. She s also making bracelets out of colorful rubber bands.
I'm probably going to make a bunch of Seahawks bracelets, said Allison.
It helps pass the time on long car rides between Shelton and Seattle Children s hospital every week for check-ups.
Along with Wilson and the Seahawks, there s one person she s most thankful for: her heart donor.
I feel really bad cause I don t know them and they had to die, said Allison.
Allison is grateful for all the fundraisers and donations from friends and from complete strangers.
This crafty girl is counting down the days until she can run again and meet her sports hero one more time.
A Shelton tavern is selling Allison s rubber band bracelets to raise money for her medical bills.
Allison s next big project is working on a special thank you card for the heart donor s family.
