Pete Carroll, who is reportedly being pursued as the next head coach of the Seattle Seahawks,is already considered one of the best coaches in college football history, having won two national championships with the USCTrojans along with seven Pac-10 titles.
But before that, he had onlymodest success in the NFL as head coach. He was fired by the New York Jets after only one season and let go after three years with the New England Patriots.
