SEATTLE – The Seahawks' offensive line woes took a big hit Thursday as tackle Russell Okung reached agreement on a deal to join the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos.
NFL.com reports Okung has a one-year deal with the team worth $5 million. But it includes a four-year, $48 million option the Broncos can choose to pick up.
Okung, acting as his own agent, informed teams this offseason he would need surgery on an injured shoulder. That could be the reason for the team option.
Okung's departure means none of the Seahawks starting offensive linemen from Super Bowl XLVIII remain on the roster. Justin Britt remains the only starter from the team that played in Super Bowl XLIX.
Okung has been a reliable left tackle for the Seahawks since being drafted in 2010, but has never been healthy through a full 16-game season.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Broncos will now look to trade tackle Ryan Clady.
