Seahawk Chris Carson surpasses 1,000 rushing yards

Chris Carson is the first Seahawk to record 1,000 rushing yards since Marshawn Lynch in 2014.

SEATTLE — In the third quarter of Sunday’s contest against the Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson ran it up the middle for a four-yard gain, giving him 88 rushing yards on the game and 1,001 rushing yards on the season.

Carson becomes the first Seattle back since Marshawn Lynch in 2014 to rush for 1,000 yards. He is now the sixth different Seattle back, alongside Lynch, Ricky Watters, Chris Warren, Curt Warner and Shaun Alexander, to rush for 1,000 yards in a Seahawks uniform.

The Seahawks have committed to the running game this year, and Carson has been the primary benefactor. He has rushed for over 100 yards five times on the season.

Rookie running back Rashaad Penny and veteran Mike Davis have each rushed for over 100 yards this season as well, a testament to Seattle’s commitment to the run and the improvements up front on the offensive line.
