SEATTLE – The Seahawks lost defensive line stalwart Brandon Mebane on the first day of NFL free agency.
The San Diego Chargers announced it agreed to terms on a three-year deal with the defensive tackle.
Mebane, one of the last remaining pieces of the Mike Holmgren era, had 15.5 sacks and 228 tackles in 131 games since 2007. He also forced two fumbles and recovered four.
Mebane was the second Seahawk to depart on Day 1 of free agency. Linebacker Bruce Irvin agreed to terms with the Oakland Raiders.
