SEATTLE — The Seattle Seahawks will look a bit different on Sunday, as the team is breaking out its throwback uniforms from the 20th century for a matchup with the Cleveland Browns.
Both teams enter Sunday's game at 4-2, and the Browns feature arguably the most dominant individual player in the sport in Myles Garrett. The defensive end was an absolute menace in Cleveland's win over the Indianapolis Colts a week ago, with two strip sacks among 9 total tackles and an absurd blocked field goal that simply doesn't seem possible given his 272-pound frame.
The Seahawks got back in the win column against Arizona, but against a stingy Browns defense, the offense will have to find a way to make impact plays.
Seahawks vs. Browns will kick off at 1:05 p.m. PT and can be streamed live through NFL+. Tickets are still available on Ticketmaster, although supply is limited.
Here are three Seattle players to keep an eye on in Sunday's game:
DK Metcalf, WR
The hulking Seahawks wide receiver did not play in last week's win over the Cardinals, but was a full participant in Thursday's practice, making him likely to play against Cleveland.
Given the tenacity of the Browns' pass rush behind Garrett and others, quarterback Geno Smith will have less time to throw than usual. He might end up needing to rely on bigger receivers like Metcalf to go up and get jump balls if Smith cannot set his feet in enough time. Expect to see a few very quick and short targets to Metcalf and other Seahawks wideouts.
Riq Woolen, CB
Controversial Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will not be in the lineup Sunday as he deals with a right shoulder injury, so P.J. Walker will be at the helm of Cleveland's offense.
Walker completed fewer than 50% of his passes in last week's win over the Browns and threw 1 interception while failing to toss any touchdown passes.
Woolen has yet to record an interception in 2023 after finishing his rookie year tied for the NFL lead with 6. After getting off to a slow start this season, Woolen should have his best chances at interceptions against an inaccurate QB on Sunday.
Charles Cross, LT
The second-year offensive lineman will have the least enviable matchup in the building at Lumen Field on Sunday when he lines up across from Garrett. In the spirit of Halloween, Garrett creates a graveyard at his home with tombstones for all of the opposing quarterbacks he has sacked.
In order to avoid adding a Smith-adorned tombstone to Garrett's extensive collection, Cross will have to play one of the better games of his life. Garrett's combination of strength, speed and size is almost unheard of, even in a sport of genetically superior professional athletes.
