How to watch Seahawks vs. Titans preseason game on KING 5

Here's what Seattle fans should know for the Seahawks' preseason opener on KING 5.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Featuring a team primarily of second-stringers fighting for a starting spot, the Seattle Seahawks handled the Los Angeles Chargers, 16-3, in its preseason opener last weekend.

Now the Seahawks figure to employ many of its starting personnel against the Tennessee Titans.

Here's everything you should know about the Seahawks' second preseason game of the season.

Matchup: Titans vs. Seahawks
Date: Saturday, Aug. 17
Kick-off time: 4 p.m. PT
TV channel: KING 5

Check out a pregame special beginning at 3:30 p.m. on KING, which will run right into the kick-off between the Seahawks and Titans. A 30-minute postgame show will follow the game.

How will the starters play in a new system?

Quarterback Geno Smith, running back Kenneth Walker, veteran receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett and many of the defense's cornerstone players were rested for the first preseason game.

The team's second preseason game will be the starters' first chance to get regular game action before the regular season opens on Sept. 8.

Unlike previous seasons, the Seahawks have a new offensive system and a defensive-minded head coach aiming to fashion the team in their image. This preseason game figures to be more important in this case, because the Seahawks starters will have a bigger learning curve to adjust to the demands of their role.

The backups fared well in their opportunity, stifling the Chargers offense. Backup quarterback Sam Howell's passable, albeit inefficient, performance buoyed the team to victory.

It'll be worth monitoring to see how the team performs on both sides of the ball in the Seahawks dress rehearsal for the regular season.

How to watch the final Seahawks preseason game
