EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The Seahawks have won three consecutive games for the second time in the 2024 NFL Season.
Despite falling behind 14-0 early, Seattle found a way to fight back and earn a road win at MetLife Stadium against Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.
Here are three takeaways from the comeback win on the East Coast.
Former Jets get revenge
Two of the Seahawks' most important players Sunday were originally drafted by the Jets: Geno Smith and Leonard Williams.
It was not Smith's greatest individual game of the season, but the veteran quarterback and the offense made just enough plays to outlast a Jets team with a strong defense.
Williams was much more of a force to be reckoned with against his former club, as his first NFL touchdown came on a miraculous 92-yard interception return. Williams also had two sacks, three total tackles for loss, and blocked an extra point in the winning effort.
Special teams woes
A win is a win, but it was almost entirely a day to forget for Seattle's special teams.
The Seahawks fumbled on three separate kickoff returns, with two of them being recovered by the Jets. New York also had a 99-yard kickoff return touchdown that put Seattle down 21-7. Jason Myers also had one of his extra-point attempts blocked.
One bright spot was the Seahawks did block an extra point after New York's first touchdown, but expect special teams to be a point of emphasis this week when Seattle returns to the practice field.
Early game success
Sunday was the Seahawks' third game of the season played at 10 a.m. PT, a time slot NFL West Coast teams historically have struggled in.
In 2024, the Seahawks are now 3-0 in games that kick off before noon PT. There was the overtime victory in New England against the Patriots, beating the Falcons in Atlanta and Sunday's defeat of the Jets at MetLife Stadium.
That will be the team's final 10 a.m. PT kickoff in the regular season, although the season finale against the Los Angeles Rams is yet to have a start time.
