How to watch 2024 US Olympic Gymnastics Trials

MINNEAPOLIS — There is just a month until the Opening Ceremony gets underway at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, and much of Team USA has begun to take shape.

Beginning Thursday, the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials will determine the group of men and women that will compete in some of the most highly-anticipated events at each summer Olympics. One of the women expected to represent the U.S. is Shilese Jones, who was born in Seattle and trains down in Auburn.

Here's when and where fans can tune in on KING 5 and other NBC properties for the trials.

When is the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials?

The trials will run from Thursday, June 27 through Sunday, June 30. Men's events will be held on Thursday and Saturday, while the women's events will run on Friday and Sunday.

How can I watch the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials?

Coverage of the first day of the men's competition will begin 3:30 p.m. PT on Thursday on USA Network. Saturday's coverage will begin at noon PT for Day 2 of competition on KING 5.

The first day of the women's competition can be seen on KING 5 starting at 4:40 p.m. PT. The final day of the trials will have coverage on KING 5 beginning at 5:10 p.m. PT.

Are any western Washington athletes competing in the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials?

There are a trio of Washington athletes competing on the women's side, including two who train in western Washington.

Jones, as mentioned above, is considered a strong contender to earn a spot on the U.S. Olympic roster. Jones just missed out on a spot in the Tokyo games but was part of a team that won a gold medal at the 2022 World Championships. Jones did not compete in the recent U.S. Championships but petitioned to compete in the Olympic Trials and will try to qualify for her first Olympics.

Jordan Chiles is from Vancouver in southwestern Washington and brought home a team silver medal at the summer Olympics in Tokyo. Chiles competed at UCLA and was also part of the 2022 World Championship gold medal team.

At just 15 years old, Simone Rose from Sammamish will be among the youngest competitors in the field. She qualified for the trials and is expected to be a prime contender for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
