Des Moines native Shawn Johnson, 24, married NFL player Andrew East, 24, Saturday, according to People magazine.
The ceremony, held on a private farm in Franklin, Tenn., was “intimate and relaxed," Johnson told the magazine.
The couple met three years ago through East's brother, a fellow athlete, the magazine reported.
Johnson and East got engaged last summer at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
Johnson, a 2008 Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics, and East, a long snapper recently signed by the Oakland Raiders, have been chronicling recent preparations for the wedding through their social media channels.
"The more I wasn't trying to impress (East) by being that celebrity girl or Olympic gymnast, but was just my weird, awkward self, the more he loved me," Johnson told the magazine. "And it just became more and more comfortable."
They live in Nashville.
