SEATTLE — Caitlin Clark had a very memorable collegiate game at Climate Pledge Arena and now she will play annually in Seattle after becoming the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) Draft on Monday evening.
The Indiana Fever had the top pick by having the league's worst record in the 2023 season, allowing them to select Clark in the draft.
Clark became college basketball's all-time leading scorer for the men's and women's Division I levels this past season. The new Fever guard led the University of Iowa to back-to-back appearances in the national championship game, but the Hawkeyes fell short to South Carolina and LSU.
So when will Caitlin Clark make her return to Seattle and Climate Pledge Arena?
Seattle Storm fans will have a pair of chances to see Clark during her rookie season, when the Fever play in the Pacific Northwest on May 22 and June 27. The Storm will also play at the Fever on May 30 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Some local women's basketball fans might remember Clark's last game at Climate Pledge Arena well when the Iowa Hawkeyes won a thrilling Elite 8 game against Cashmere-born Hailey Van Lith and the Louisville Cardinals. Clark recorded the NCAA Tournament's first-ever 40-point triple-double in the victory, finishing with 41 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists.
The Storm's website said single-game tickets will go on sale at some point in April. Click here to learn more about availability for Storm home games.
The first regular-season game for the Storm will be against the Minnesota Lynx on May 14.
