Centralia police are hunting for a high-tech criminal who targeted a gas station with credit card skimmers.
The devices were inserted into gas pumps at a Chevron station on Mellen street and they're designed to steal credit card information.
A state inspector found them when checking out the pumps on Tuesday. Police don't know how long the skimmers were in place or how many people may be victims. They're asking any victims or anyone with information on the case to call 360-330-7680.
"Unless you know what you’re looking for, it looks normal," officer Angie Humphrey told the Centralia Chronicle. Humphrey says three sets of skimmers have been discovered in Lewis county since December.
Increasingly, skimmers are becoming a problem in Washington State. The devices have been discovered in Spokane, Kennewick and Ellensburg in the past year.
Experts say the illegal devices can also be used at ATMs.
