REDMOND, Wash — You can feel the electricity in Redmond this weekend.
North America’s largest electric vehicle festival is descending upon Marymoor park with all-electric experiences with the world’s top electric cars and trucks, e-motorcycles, e-bikes, e-scooters, e-skateboards and more.
Take a test ride on multiple demo courses, including the velodrome high-speed e-bike track.
Electrify Expo powers over 1 million square feet of festival fun, exhibits, food, drinks, music and more.
Electrify Expo CEO BJ Birtwell said this event speaks to electric vehicle enthusiasts and the casually curious alike with many consumers wanting to embrace the technology but have questions about what that really means.
“Electrify Expo answers that by making it easy for consumers to get behind the wheel of an EV, hop on the seat of an e-bike, e-scooter, e-motorcycle and more on a variety of demo courses,” Birtwell said.
Birtwell brings the expo to the Seattle area after successful runs in California, Washington DC and New York. Seattle is the final stop on the West Coast for the 2023 tour and Birtwell said they’re pulling out all the stops.
“We know Marymoor Park is a famous venue for concerts and festivals, so we’re excited to maximize this incredible space with a ton of experiences," he said.
Seattle’s adoption of EV’s reportedly outpaces the nation and Electrify Expo brings nearly every EV maker to town with the latest and greatest. Axios reports that EV adoption in Seattle doubled from 2022 to 2023. Electrify Expo is the second time the US public will get to see Volvo’s new EX30 affordable SUV, the companies first compact fully electric crossover and quickest vehicle.
One of the most anticipated EV’s of the year is the Kia EV9 SUV and will make it’s first visit to the Seattle area. The new Polstar 3 SUV is among the other new models rolling in this weekend and Tesla will show off their Model S, 3, X and Y with a plaid version for consumers to test out.
Electrify Expo gates are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Marymoor Park in Redmond. Tickets are $20 with kids 5 and under free. More info and tickets available here.
