19-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash in north Seattle

All northbound lanes on Aurora Avenue were blocked for approximately three hours while police investigated what led up to the crash.

SEATTLE — One person died in a crash along state Route 99 in Seattle Thursday afternoon.

According to the Seattle Fire Department, there was a crash involving a car and a motorcycle at around 5 p.m. on Aurora Avenue North at 140th Street

The 19-year-old man riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. 

According to SPD, the driver and passenger of the vehicle involved are in their 70s. The driver was not injured, but the passenger was taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

The driver was evaluated at the scene and there were no signs of impairment. 

Officials with the Seattle Police Department are investigating what led up to the crash. 

All northbound lanes on Aurora Avenue were blocked for approximately three hours as police investigated. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
