La Conner soccer team uninjured, game rescheduled after I-405 crash involving school bus

The driver of a truck suffered minor injuries in the crash on Nov. 13.

BOTHELL, Wash. — Southbound Interstate 405 near Bothell fully reopened about two hours after a crash involving a school bus on Wednesday.

A car, truck and school bus were involved in the crash that occurred just after 1 p.m. north of state Route 527.

The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries, according to Washington State Patrol.

Nobody on board the school bus was injured. The bus was transporting the a girls' soccer team out of the La Conner School District. There were 20 students and three adults on board at the time of the crash, according to Bothell Fire.

"We’re relieved to report that all students and staff are safe following this afternoon’s accident," the La Conner School District posted on Facebook.

A city bus was brought it to transport everyone on the school bus from the freeway. The La Connor School District thanks Northshore for their help transporting the team back to campus on Wednesday. 

The soccer team's game in Cle Elum was rescheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m.

The southbound lanes were fully blocked for a short period of time and some lanes remained closed until the crash was cleared around 3 p.m.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
